NPC Washington Summit Pt 2

I’m Bob Larson. A new event for the potato industry combines the Annual Meeting with the Potato D.C. Fly-In for the first National Potato Council Washington Summit, February 28th thru March 3rd.

NPC CEO Kam Quarles says combining the Annual Meeting and the Fly-In will allow us to do all of our advocacy and leadership work in D.C. …

QUARLES … “It’s going to be a solid week, a very busy week, there at the end of February, first of March for us. But, yeah, it will combine the NPC annual meeting. We’ll select our new board. Our new president will be seated, all of our committees. And then we will go right into all of our Capitol Hill advocacy that we do.”

And that, Quarles says allows the Potato Expo and Washington Summit to stand on their own …

QUARLES … “It makes just so much more sense for our annual meeting to be tied to the Fly-In. It allows us to focus all of our energy on Expo at the right time and then turn all our attention, all of our energy, towards the important advocacy and organizational leadership things that we need to do.”

Quarles says they’re really looking forward to it …

QUARLES … “The big statement there is that we just think that this is going to make a heck of a lot of sense for the industry moving forward. So, we’re excited to kick it off this year.”

The new-look NPC Washington Summit, will be held February 28th thru March 3rd.
