BL: Welcome back to another “Fruit Bites” brought to you by Valent U.S.A. With us as always is Valent’s Allison Walston. And this week Allison, it’s the 2021 apple grower of the year.

AW: Congratulations to Chip and Trevor Hardy of Brookdale Fruit Farm in Hollis, NH. They are a father-son duo with Chip managing the farm, while Trevor operates a farm supply business.

BL: They’ll receive their award at the Apple Crop Outlook Conference in Chicago Aug. 19th.

AW: Brookdale Fruit Farm, founded in 1847, is a thriving 420-acre fruit and vegetable farm. The Hardys work alongside industry partners and continue to seek ways to be an innovative, IPM-friendly and sustainable operation.

BL: So, congrats the Hardy family for 7 generations of family farming and growing about 22 different apple varieties.

AW: Since 2015, Valent in conjunction with American Fruit Grower magazine and the US Apple Association recognize apple growers and celebrates the innovative spirit of the American apple industry.

BL: Well, thanks Allison. Join us again next time for Fruit Bites, brought to you by Valent. Until then, I’m Bob Larson.
