Jimmy Nichols is General Manager of Nichols Farms in the Kings County area of Hanford. The company farms almonds and pistachios and COVID-19 certainly has changed the way of his employees work throughout the day.

“This is something we've never dealt with before and we are taking precautions to keep our employees safe,” Nichols. “But we are continuing to work and we're taking precautions to make sure that our employees are healthy when they arrive and when they leave work,” he noted.

Nichols said they're also encouraging the employees to keep mask on. “Yeah, we're encouraging employees to wear masks, and we provided masks for our employees and their families. In addition, we're asking general screening questions each morning for each employee,” he explained.

“We need to know if they have a fever or if they're feeling sick, “ he said. “We want to make sure if they have come into contact with someone who's known to have COVID-19 symptoms or tests as positive. So that's part of the procedure each morning,” said Nichols.
