When the subject of hypocrites comes up I can't help but think about the poor kids here in the Northwest that were hospitalized in the intensive care unit a few months ago in for drinking unpasturized milk. Does anyone else regard it as hypocritical that these 'natural food fanatics demanded the very latest medical technology in the critical care unit where their children lay near death yet they stubbornly renounce any technological advances in food safety, like pasteurization. Same holds true for parents who oppose tiny traces of antibiotics in dairy cattle, then beg their pediatricians for antibiotics when their kids get a runny nose. Speaking of illness I find it odd how terrified American are by diseases like mad cow, West Nile and the avian flue yet, yet will stuff themselves full of fast food never giving a second thought to the tragic diseases brought on by obesity that kill thousands each year like diabetes and heart disease . I'm Susan Allen and this is Food Forethought.
