Societal trend experts report that about half of us are becoming more and more myopic in regards to our body functions, the food we eat and our health. Thus they expect to see even more defined and specific food labeling in the years to come.. Not only do many of us desire to know the make up of the food we consume, but we also want to know how it will help our internal system. A new buzz word that will become part our vocabulary in the years to come is the glycemic index. In fact concerns for the heath of our GI tract will give rise to new beverages that feature low glycemic index's. Firms s like AC Neilson who tract trends expect to see great growth in the foods for health and medicine category especially in the affluent sector. Yet surprising, or maybe not so surprisingly if you take a look around, these same experts say that the other half of our population again about 50 percent will continue to be what these tenders dub "health neglectors" those of us who keep munching fatty sugary convience foods despite what the doctor ordered.
