**It's the time of year again for holiday feasting. But, if you're cooking for friends and family this year, make sure to keep your food safe from foodborne illnesses.

As reported in porkbusiness.com, Millions of Americans come down with food poisoning every year, resulting in roughly 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths.

Food safety tips from the CDC include: Clean your hands thoroughly for a full 20 seconds with soapy water, Separate raw meat, poultry and eggs from ready-to-eat foods, Use a food thermometer, And chill leftovers within two hours of cooking.

**The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced representatives from the North Pole were among the visitors checking out the Agency's new traveler information web page.

The site, launched in September, provides important information about which ag items are safe to enter the U.S.

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue thanked Santa for setting a great example of thoughtful and responsible gift giving and for always getting a movement permit for his reindeer to enter the U.S., and for going above and beyond this year.

**Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is stepping down in the face of a growing list of investigations into his travel and political activity.

Agri-Pulse reports, President Trump confirmed the reports in a series of tweets Saturday, saying Zinke "accomplished much during his tenure" and thanked him for his service.

A replacement will be announced this week.
