Stockmanship & Stewardship PNW Pt 1
I'm Bob Larson. A Stockmanship and Stewarship event in Pasco next month will be great opportunity for cattle producers to network with others in the industry, participate in hands-on demonstrations, learn grazing management techniques, and become Beef Quality Assurance certified.Oregon State University Extension Service's Sergio Arispe
says that includes the younger cattle producers ...
ARISPE ... "A YCQA certification, it's for youth that are showing at national shows. In know youth in the state of Washington and Oregon need that YCQA certification if they're going to show their animals and youth in Idaho don't have to have that certification, but if they're going to show at a national show they'll require that YCQA certification."
And, Arispe says it's a two-day event ...
ARISPE ... "We're trying to get those youth there on both days so they can really get an understanding of best management practices, low-stress cattle handling and some of the issues that the beef industry is handling."
Arispe says if you'd like to register or find more information, just go to
https://www.stockmanshipandstewardship.org/events/pasco-wa
ARISPE ... "They can see the two-day schedule on there. This is going to be held at the TRAC Center in Pasco, Washington starting at 1pm on October 12th and this will last until 5pm on Saturday, October the 13th."
The Stockmanship & Stewardship BQA Event is hosted by National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Pacific Northwest Extension Services with funding in part by the Beef Checkoff.
