If you are involved in Colorado’s agricultural industries, you know someone who has played a significant role in keeping Colorado’s ag industry and its allied businesses amount the best in the nation — now is the time to get some recognition for all of their hard work and dedication. The Farm Credit Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame is currently seeking nominees between now and October first. Colorado FFA Foundation Executive Director Don Thorn gives more detailsThorn: “The Colorado FFA Foundation for over 25 years has been been the custodian of the Agriculture Hall of Fame. Just a couple years ago it was newly named the Farm Credit Agriculture Hall of Fame. We are looking for nominees of people that have made significant impacts in agriculture. It can be people who have made impacts locally, statewide, nationally or globally. We have a revised application this year. We just want to feature people who have gone above and beyond their occupation and made an impact on agriculture that has benefited people in Colorado.”
Thorn continues with more on the award that specifically targets younger nominees.
Thorn: “We also have another area called the Rising Star in Colorado Agriculture. That is someone who is 35 to 50 that has also been making great strides and making impacts to agriculture. That is still a relatively new program — there are only about four or so honorees that are in that club as it were.”
