E85 Fuel for Just 85 cents

E85 Fuel for Just 85 cents

Again this summer Kum & Go is partnering with the Colorado Corn to host a series of events along the Front Range, drawing attention to ethanol, E85 and Flex-Fuel vehicles and informing consumers of their many benefits. The summer’s first event is tomorrow, June 7th at the Greely Kum & Go on 29th and will happen for the following five Tuesday’s. Colorado Corn Communication Director Eric Brown shares more details.
Brown: “A lot of people who drive a Flex-Fuel vehicle that is capable of running on E85 — a lot of those drivers don’t even know that they are driving a Flex-Fuel vehicle — other than maybe having a yellow gas cap and a Flex-Fuel emblem on the back. We’ve learned that a lot of folks don’t know what that means. We have teamed up with Kum & Go who is one of the larger distributors of E85 certainly here in Colorado and certainly in other states as well. To just draw attention to it and educate folks on all the good that ethanol and E85 particular bring to the table. It is a higher octane, cleaner burning fuel made right here in the U.S. and out of something that supports rural communities and the corn farmer. So what we have been doing in these promotions is selling E85 for 85 cents a gallon during these 10 a.m to 2 p.m. events. Each Tuesday for the next consecutive six weeks. They can fill up for 85 cents a gallon — that is going to draw some attention.”
