Training Classes Available. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.

The Washington State Tree Fruit Association has a couple of opportunities for ag workers coming up to get some needed training. The Association's Nicole Brunner says they have food safety training classes in conjunction with EAGLE Certification Group.

BRUNNER: They're in Wenatchee this week offering HAACP, SQF, GlobalGap and internal auditing.

And she says another class coming up is the popular pesticide handler class.

BRUNNER: And then we have also have coming up through the WSDA the pesticide handler training course up in the Okanagan that we do annually and we'd love to get more because these classes just fill up and a lot of people in the tree fruit industry love to get their handler and pesticide licenses. They try to get a lot of the surrounding counties so they're able to reach more of the people that need these types of applicators licenses.

The food safety training classes begin today so you'd need to call right away. Brunner says the Tree Fruit Association is charged with having training events for the industry.

BRUNNER: That's part of the mission for the Washington State Tree Fruit Association is education so we're definitely promoting as much education in the tree fruit field as we can to help our growers.

Call or log on to their website for more details or to sign up.
