Idaho's water rights.

You may remember Congressman Mike Simpson ranting and writing bills in the legislature regarding water grabs by the feds. Gov. Otter has also been very vocal about it. In Idaho we have the Snake River plain aquifer which is an inestimable asset. The governor has made it a priority to protect that asset and recently visited with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Justice Scalia was in Boise to discuss the intricacies of water law and the success of the Snake River Basin Adjudication process.

"The celebration we are having today with Justice Scalia gives a great exclamation point to the judicial success that we have had in the appropriation and adjudication process of the Eastern Snake River plain aquifer and the Snake River. So Justice Scalia's presence here makes a tremendous statement about Idaho is probably ... the only state in the union that has accomplished this huge feat, of being able to make sure that we have water rights that are correct and historically proven."
