Vote For Pacific Northwest Ice Cream

Vote For Pacific Northwest Ice Cream

June is Dairy month and also the time of year to vote in the annual Progressive Dairyman’s Flavor Faceoff which is features university creameries across the nation, represented by dairy, animal or food science organizations nominating ice cream.
In this year’s competition one of the creameries with a ice cream flavor you can vote on is Washington State University’s Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Shoppe with its fabulous flavor of Apple Cup Crisp.
This tasty flavor was nominated by the WSU Dairy Club. WSU Professor of Veterinarian Animal Sciences and Dairy Club advisor Dr. Larry Fox says
Fox: “We believe that Ferdinand’s produces amongst the finest ice creams in the nations. Part of the reason of Ferdinand’s success is that their milk comes from the Washington State University Dairy where our students participate in the management of those cows and the milking of those cows. Given the superior climate and the attention those cows receive we are able to produce a superior milk product that is turned into a superior ice cream.”
He adds that the Dairy Club is the reigning National Dairy Quiz Bowl Champion. As described in the Dairy Club’s nomination of Apple Cup Crisp, the flavor begins with vanilla ice cream, laced with green and spiced apple flavoring with a swirl of caramel and crispy chunks of oatmeal cookies.
