Hort Survey

The 2013 Washington State Hort Convention and Expo was last December but the Hort Association is asking for your input on how to make the next convention a bigger and better show. Stephanie Chance, Hort's Communications Director talks about why they created the survey.

CHANCE: Our president this year, Steve Zediker thought let's do kind of a demographic survey and see what our members want and how can we make it better which we loved the idea and so we put together this survey and we're really hoping to get feedback from our members because they're the reason we put on the Hort convention.

Chance says the survey now online.

CHANCE: The survey takes less than 4 minutes of their time. It lets us kind of get an idea of who's attending our hort convention. Are they a grower, are they just affiliated with the industry but more importantly what kind of content do they want to see and take away from our hort convention.

She talks about some of the questions you can expect to see on the brief survey.

CHANCE: Why do they attend and it gives a list based on their interest why they like to attend whether it's tree growing topics, marketing topics, employee management topics. It give a list of various reasons why they attend and if they have a strong interest or weak interest in them. And then also what topics would encourage our members to attend more regularly or send more employees.
