Increasing Livestock Health with Probiotics

WRT’s Joseph Witzke says his company’s product Jackpot Livestock Probiotics can help improve your grazing animals’ vigor with lowered maintenance costs.

Witzike: “We have a beneficial micro organism for livestock and horses also. It is a probiotic, but is supercharged. It would be something you add to either the drinking water or to their feed. It helps to regulate their digestive system, their intestines. You are hoping for better feed conversions or less reliance on anti-biotic.”

He adds that this product includes microbes found in the soil and are concentrated to benefit animals that are kept mainly in pens or corrals.

Many of us have heard to benefits of probiotics in the human diet known to increase wellbeing, improving metabolism and reducing stress. Well the same is true for horses. Witzike shares a success story.

Witzike: “We’ve seen horses gain weight. A 35 year old horse gained weight from eating on a dry pasture that you’d think would have no nutritional value but all of a sudden look healthy again.”
