Putting a Face on the Beef Industry

Putting a Face on the Beef Industry

I’m KayDee Gilkey and welcome to Open Range. Here’s Greg with today’s report.

Thanks KayDee. Dan Hammond and his wife are just two of the cattle producers that are being featured in Albertson’s stores as part of the AgriBeef promotion.

HAMMOND: The Albertson’s have agreed to carry the AgriBeef Double R product and it’s in all their stores here in the northwest and they have used posters with people’s pictures on it that are involved in feeding cattle for AgriBeef with a little verbiage about themselves and what they do.

Hammond says he has been contacted by quite a few people who saw the poster.

HAMMOND: They think it’s a neat way to advertise the AgriBeef meat products. It’s a way of putting a face on the beef industry. I’ve been involved with AgriBeef for over 40 years and I was just excited when we were told that Albertson’s was going to be carrying the AgriBeef products and I just think it’s a great way to humanize beef consumption.

And he says it has been fun being a part of the campaign.

HAMMOND: I think it’s fun to receive those comments from people because first of all, I know they’re there in the beef section of the store and hopefully they’re buying AgriBeef products. I think it’s a really good way of advertising.

I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m KayDee Gilkey.
