Oregon Farm Bureau's Directory Provides Details on Oregon Farm Stands

This time of year with the brilliant colors of the fall leaves and a chill in the air, many families are enjoy ing a visit to a pumpkin patch, apple picking or participating in autumn festival.

The Oregon Farm Bureau has created Oregon’s Bounty an online searchable database of public ag ventures in Oregon -- including pumpkin patches, u-pick orchards, harvest festivals, vineyards and more.

Oregon Farm Bureau Communications Director Anne Marie Moss shares

Moss: “About 400 farms are listed in the database and all of them are Farm Bureau members. It allows you to search by a key word which this time of year could be pumpkins, apples or hazelnuts and then it will generate a list of farms in a specific region of the state or the entire state. It is linked to Google Maps so you can click on the farm listing and find out how to get directions to the farm.”

Moss adds that it is a great way for the public to find Farm Bureau members who provide produce or have agri-tourism in the state.

Moss: “We definitely like it when our members who are family farmers and ranchers get to connect with the public and explain how things are raised and answer questions and share their pride in what they do, how they care for their crops and animals.”?

Moss says simply go to the Farm Bureau’s website -- oregonfb.org to find the Oregon Bounty’s database.
