Hungry Girl Partnership with USPB Raises Potato Awareness

This summer the United States Potato Board announced their new partnership with Hungry Girl for their consumer communication program.

USPB Public Relations Manager Meredith Myers more about what happen on the launch day of the partnership in September.

Myers: “The first official day was September 19th and Hungry Girl sent out a potato-centric dedicated email blast to her 1.2 million subscribers. This newsletter had a 30 percent open rate which is a tremendous rate of people opening and reading the message about potatoes. The email blast also linked to Hungry Girl’s ‘Top Eight List of Reasons to Love Potatoes’. There was a call to action to enter the Guilt-Free Potato Goodness Recipe Contest that is on the USPB’s Facebook page, which is Potatoes,Taters and Spuds.”

Several more “Potato-love” emails to Hungry Girl subscribers helped to bring new visitors to the PotatoGoodness website to see not only new recipes but also learn more about potato nutrition. In fact that first week’s website visits totaled was more than 54,000 compared to a previous average monthly visitor count of 42,000.
