Lamb Industry Input on Roadmap Study Requested

Throughout this past year the lamb industry advisory committee has been working on the Industry Roadmap Study. The purpose of the study is to provide strategies to strengthen the U.S. lamb industry and increase its competitive advantage. This committee, which is made of representatives from all sectors of the lamb industry, has worked the key objectives and accompanying action steps for four high level goals.

American Lamb Board's Executive Director Megan Wortman says that now is a critical time for the industry to review the study and give input.

Wortman: "We are now in the stage of we've got a presentation with some key recommendations and strategies identified. Really now want to get industry input, feedback and buy-in before we finalize this report and start working on the implementations of the recommendations. What I could use some help with is getting the industry aware that this study is out there, and available on our website. We're going to be hosting a series of conference calls with the consulting group the week of October 14 and really, really, really want the industry to get involved."

Wortman says it is important for the industry become vested in this study. Involvement by all -- whether traditional or non-traditional; whether small or large operation; regardless of geography -- industry participants are encouraged to review the study and share their feedback.
