4-9 IAN Wally Appointed
A recent posting from the Idaho Farm Bureau Blogspot said that “After a lifetime of work on the range, long time range manager Wally Butler found a home on the range. Butler has served as the Idaho Farm Bureau range and livestock Specialist for the past 15 years. The University of Idaho graduate has a bachelor of science, animal science and a masters degree in range management. He joined the Society while still a student at the U of I. Butler took over the reins of the Society for Range Management for a one-year term. I called close friend and colleague, Wally: “You have been placed as president of the Society for Range Management for a one-year term. Tell me about your responsibilities. I have been active in the society for many years. I spent 3 years on the board, 2006, 2007, 2008 and after that I was elected the chairmanships which meant I was 2nd vice president 2 years ago and 1st vice president last year and president this year. In that role, rather than being involved in the management of range on the ground, I now run the business of the organization helping set up committees and committee chairs.”
