4-10 IAN Bee Apps

 What in the world is this world coming to? It all boils down to apps, I guess.

 Talking the other day with beekeeper/bee expert Bill Ahaus about a variety of bee related issues and Bill, who is certainly an innovative thinker but admits to being a little bit old school told me about something you learned recently at a local bee school.  “this woman from University of Minnesota knew a beekeeper in Minnesota. He sells his honey at Farmer’s markets and he, I can’t remember what you call those things but they are icons on a cell phone, ...apps... yes, apps. it gives you information about that product. He has his label set up with all these little apps on them and you can take a picture of that and it will tell you exactly where that beehive was located and what kind of nectar was coming in. It is almost like a GPS location. Of course people want local like a beehive that is 3 blocks from your house. That is a little extreme for my purposes.”
