Sage Grouse Database Available

I’m KayDee Gilkey with today’s Open Range.

The Public Lands Council has its sage grouse database up and running. This user-friendly library of information pertains to the sage grouse conservation and is available to the public land grazing community.

PLC Executive Director Dustin Van Liew shares more.

Van Liew: “The Public Lands Council along with the Public Lands Trust recently rolled out the Sage Grouse Conservation Library at grazingforgrouse.com providing all the scientific peer-reviewed information about the benefits of grazing for sage grouse. Also the legal documents surrounding battles regarding sage grouse in the West over recent years. So it is a good resource and tool for all ranchers to access, agencies for that matter to access.”

Van Liew says the datebase is continually being updated and added to.

Van Liew: “We are in the process of updating and maintaining that site continually. So folks will see new information there as we work through the issue of the greater sage grouse in the West. An issue that has the potential to hugely impact ranchers and all multiple uses on federal lands in the West.”

Give us that web address one more time.
Van Liew: “Again grazingforgrouse.com. We are proud of offering this tool to our members and the general public.”
