We’re looking for some special little cowboys and cowgirls to compete in a rodeo August 26th in the Tri-cities area! I’m Susan Allen stay tuned for Open Range. Calling all little cowboys and cowgirls The Racal Rodeo is coming to the Kennewick  Fair Grounds Friday August 26. Thirty special needs children will be given the opportunity to be paired with a cowboy or cowgirl to compete in rodeo’s version of the Special Olympics. There will be mini horses to pet, stick horse barrel racing, rocking bronc and bull riding, plus each boy will receive a sheriff’s badge and Miss Rodeo America has even sent crowns for each girl. Here is Ann-Erica Whitemarsh the founder of Rascal Rodeo after I asked her why she is so passionate about sharing our western lifestyle with these special athletes “being in love with barrel racing and rodeo as a child and not having the chance to compete as much as I wanted to I realized that these children NEVER have an option to do this anywhere else. I get such joy seeing these kids partake in a once in a lifetime opportunity to be cowboys and cowgirls,  and being accepted, with the love and attention we give them they are able to do things that people say they can’t do.” I’ll tell you, this woman has passion and Ann–Erica’s team has worked hard to come up with unique safe events, (hey you can even milk a faux cow) to make this a memorable rodeo for children with disabilities. So if you know any boys and girls that would love to spend the day with horses and professional cowboys and cowgirls visit Rascal Rodeo on either facebook or the web at www.rascalrodeo.com
