Thankful After All

Thankful After All

Well, one down and two to go in 2009.  I’m talking holidays of course. Thanksgiving actually went quite well at our house this year. It was a small gathering and a rather small turkey; at least that was the consensus when I brought it to the table, but still a pleasant holiday was had by all. I wasn’t too sure that any of us would be able to come up with an awful lot to declare thanks for this year, but as more often than not, I was wrong. There were the obvious declarations of thanks, for the food and the companionship, but there was also thanks given for some of the hardships our family has had to endure this year. What doesn’t kill you they say will make you stronger, and we are definitely one strong family! You also learn a lot from hardship and if anything we’ve learned that we can get along quite well without some of those niceties we’d grown accustomed to.  We’ve also been blessed with amazingly good health, our 89 year old mother can attest to that, and a much needed job came along just at the right time. So all in all I guess we remain a very thankful family.
