Tree Fruit Publications

Tree fruit publications. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

The University of Idaho Extension office is helping the tree fruit home gardener. Several publications are available from their website for download or purchase that cover insect control for tree fruits. The publications cover identifying insect pests and offer detailed recommendations for dealing with them. Extension Inventory Specialist Kristin Johnson says there are many more publications available.

JOHNSON: It’s an ongoing process. We have researchers and scientists in all the facets of agriculture that work on these projects throughout the year. There’s everything from animals to business and management, crops, family and consumer issues, gardening, fertilizers and soils, pests and pesticides, small acreage farming, water quality. Quite a few of them are available online but some of them are available in print copy only and they have to order from the publications office here.

I asked about the publication on pests for my one lone cherry planted last fall.

JOHNSON: CIS605 Insect control for stone fruits in the home orchard.

Visit their web site for a complete catalogue of topics. www.info.ag.uidaho.edu. That’s today’s Fruit Grower Report. I’m Greg Martin on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
