Pendleton Cattle Baron Weekend and Western Classic Gelding Sale
May 4 2009
Let er buck! It’s not the Pendleton Round-up… it’s a whole new deal! I’m Jeff Keane and I’ll be back after the break with a great event you won’t want to miss. Dust off those dress boots and come join Susan and I for the Cattle Baron’s Weekend in Pendleton. The party begins this Thursday with “in the company of Cowgirls” a free Western Art show and reception at the famous Hamley’s Steakhouse that yours truly will be emceeing. I know I will find Susan, Friday drooling over the horses that will be auctioned in the Western Classic’s Gelding Sale Saturday night. I just downloaded the sales catalog and there are some great horses! I’ve got two days, both Friday and Saturday afternoons to preview over thirty performance bred geldings from top trainers in five states. I’m on the look out for a rope horse but according to Pat Beard there are talented reining, cutting barrel and ranch horses from the likes of lil Lena’s Dun It’s, Docs, Duallys Peppy’s, Payboys and more. After I write notes in my sales catalog I’m off to the ranch saddle Bronc riding competition to hoot and holler and figure out what horse I am going to bid on that Saturday night. Susan the weekend’s chock full of family events, Dutch oven cook offs, mutton busting and ends with street dance in front of Pendleton’s famous icons the Rainbow and Hamley’s. Visit the cattlebaron link at aginfo.net for a schedule of the second annual Cattle Barons weekend May seventh to ninth, in Pendleton Oregon. I’m Jeff Keane.
