09/25/08 Animal rights part I

Have you ever had one of those days you felt like a target? I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be back in one minute to tell you about a big target. There is a big bulls-eye that has been drawn by animal activists and their aim is directly at animal agriculture. Make no mistake, these people are playing for keeps and they care very little how their goals are accomplished or who might get hurt. An article in Western Livestock Reporter submitted by KTIC 840 Rural Radio gave a scary rundown of the agendas set forward by activists at Animal Rights 2008, a convention held in Washington D.C. one month ago. An incremental approach to ending animal agriculture was the general theme, but many of the groups represented favor way more radical tactics. Alex Hershaft, president of Farm Animal Reform Movement says abolition of meat is the long-term solution. Oh by the way, Mr. Hershaft would like to see the repeal of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. I'll bet he would, and I'm sure Camille Hankins co-founder of Win Animal Rights and press officer with the terrorist-like North American Animal Liberation Press lobbies for that repeal also. Ms. Hankins voiced her support of the Santa Cruz bombers defending their firebombs that destroyed a car of one University of California Santa Cruz researcher and causing another researcher to flee with his wife and two young children as firebombs hit his home. Maybe you've heard enough, but I'm going to reveal more information tomorrow. I'm Jeff Keane. Western Livestock Reporter 9/10/08
