Washington Ag January 25, 2008 USDA's Risk Management Agency is reminding Pacific Northwest producers that January 31st is a 2008 Crop Year sales closing date for some insurance coverage. Jo Lynne Seufer with RMA's regional office explains.
Seufer: "January 31, 2008 is the final date for producers to obtain or change current Adjusted Gross Revenue pilot insurance for Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It is also, January 31, the final date to submit required final documents to continue or change 2008 Adjusted Gross Revenue-lite for existing policy holders."
Producers who are not currently AGR-lite policy holders have until March 17th to purchase the coverage.
Seufer says there is another deadline next week.
Seufer: "February 1 is the final date to obtain or change crop insurance for spring planted onions in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It is also the final date for the cabbage pilot program in Oregon and Washington."
Producers should contact a local crop insurance agent for complete details. Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance companies.
