Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. Well I guess it is official the eating and drinking celebrations will be in full swing this week. Of course I am referring to Thanksgiving. It is my favorite Holiday and today I want to talk about wine and this special occasion.
As it happens every year about this time my friends and acquaintances begin asking advice for wines to serve during the holidays. Most of all I want to encourage them and you to splurge a little since Thanksgiving is focused upon giving thanks and the ritual of eating and drinking - this is a great time to share a special bottle of wine, perhaps ones you have been saving. Maybe even ask the chef in your household to tweak a recipe to match your special wine. Keep in mind, I am all about sharing not hording wine, so if that is not you inclination it's okay. I think it is undeniable that a good Rose is fabulous with food whether you have traditional turkey or not. I can't help myself though I do have to bring out some of those red wines that sleep so peacefully in my wine storage. I sometimes serve them early so that people can appreciate them or wait until we are relaxing and chatting after dinner. My point is not necessarily to serve them with dinner. This is also a perfect time to serve those fabulous dessert wines you've been collecting. Ultimately you should eat and drink what you like. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
