10/23/07 Farm Bureau Labor Conference 2007

Washington Ag October 23, 2007 The Washington Farm Bureau's 2007 Labor Conference is being held November 12th at the Doubletree Hotel City Center in Spokane. The Farm Bureau's Dan Fazio says the day long conference will begin with a look at state issues. Fazio: "New programs that the agencies are putting place and legislation we see upcoming. The afternoon session we are really excited about. We've got a great line up of speakers talking about the federal issues and of course that is the labor shortage, the no-match rule and immigration reform in general." That will include a presentation by Julie Anna Potts, the General Counsel for the American Farm Bureau Federation. Fazio: "Of course following Julia Anna Potts we have a person from the Immigration Customs Enforcement. The deputy special agent in charge for the state of Washington, Aaron Wilson, to talk about worksite enforcement. And I know that is on people's minds." Former WSU star and Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien will give the luncheon keynote address. Fazio says they only have room for 250 people at the conference. Cost is only 25 dollars prepaid for Farm Bureau members, $125 for non-members. To register and find out more visit www.wsfb.com I'm Bob Hoff.
