Washington Ag October 16, 2007 The Washington Agriculture Legal Foundation Board of Directors recently announced the hiring of Toni Meacham as the Foundation's new Executive Director.
Meacham: "I am very excited. Of course Mike Poulson was the person I replaced and he is phenomenal. So I have big shoes to fill and I am going to do my best to do that."
Meacham also practices law in Connell, Washington specializing in agricultural issues and as the Foundation's Executive Director she will head the effort to protect and defend Washington agriculture. The Foundation gets involved in legal actions through monitoring issues important to agriculture in the state or when commodity groups or individuals seek its help.
The Washington Agriculture Legal Foundation has ongoing cases involving clean air, clean water and the Endangered Species Act and Meacham says;
Meacham: "If there is an issue facing you. If you know of an issue, do not hesitate to call me because that is what we are there for. We are there to help all aspects of agriculture. Even If I can't help you I will be an ear to listen to your problem and see if I can find another way to assist you if I can't personally assist you."
Sometimes the help of the Pacific Legal Foundation is sought.
You can reach Toni Meacham at 509-488-3289.
The Washington Agriculture Legal Foundation is not for profit and depends upon donations for funding.
