07/12/07 Washington Farm Bureau Summer Conference approaching

Washington Ag July 12, 2007 The 4th annual Washington State Farm Bureau Summer Conference is coming up Friday, July 20th. The Farm Bureau's Gary Joiner says the conference will cover several venues. Joiner: "We will be splitting time between the host hotel, the Comfort Suites there in Tukwila, and the Family Fun Center directly across the street. Also we will be going to Qwest, the home of the Seattle Seahawks, there for the bulk of the meeting portion of our conference." Joiner says one of the topics at the conference will be biofuels with a speaker from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Lab. Joiner: "And we'll also the perspective of an agricultural producer here in Washington in Dayton, Bill Warren. Bill Warren is an Eisenhower Fellowship recipient. He traveled Europe in the last year to look at their biofuels industry and infrastructure and really will be talking about the goals of what agricultural producers should be looking at in terms of an issue." Trade is another major topic for the summer conference with a speaker from the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. There is no registration charge for Farm Bureau members for the summer conference.
