Getting the Raspberries. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
The Washington Red Raspberry Commission is looking for some help. Executive Director Henry Bierlink says as the industry grows, so do their needs.
BIERLINK: We have built some momentum in our marketing department by identifying a strategic marketing plan over the last year and conducted a raspberry roundtable last month and talked about what directions we need to pursue so the next logical thing is making sure we've got someone to make sure they're pursued.
Washington State is the largest producer of processed red raspberries while California is the fresh leader. Bierlink says they are looking for someone who can help get their message out to the public.
BIERLINK: We're looking for people with some experience and enthusiasm and we're actually looking for two different positions. One with kind of the 10-thousand foot level which you are really evaluating, watching the whole plan and making sure we are moving in the right direction the right connections. And then we are also for a promotion coordinator which would do a lot of the nuts and bolts and a lot of the work to make sure that things happen.
If you have a marketing background and are interested, better hurry. The deadline for submitting your resume is tomorrow. You can get all the details on the two positions on their website at www.red-raspberry.org
