Washington Ag February 20, 2007 Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers begins a series of agriculture listening sessions throughout eastern Washington later this week to discuss the upcoming Farm Bill. Earlier this month when she spoke by video from Washington D.C. to the Pacific Northwest Farm Forum in Spokane, the 5th District Congresswoman described the environment within which the 2007 Farm Bill will be crafted.
McMorris Rodgers: "There are many competing interests in this Farm Bill. Food stamps, nutrition, rural development, marketing, research, farm programs and food safety are all included. Throughout the process I will be working with you to make ensure programs important to eastern Washington are crafted to meet our needs."
The listening sessions begin this Thursday February 22nd at the Walla Walla Airport Conference Room starting at 9:30 a.m. Also on the 22nd in Ritzville at the Circle T Restaurant at 4:30 p.m.
Friday February 23rd there will be a listening session in Colfax at the Public Service Building at 8:30 a.m. Then also on the 23rd in Spangle at the Harvester Restaurant at 11:30 a.m.
