Loving Washington Wines. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
A new website at www.lovewashingtonwine.com is a joint effort to make local wines more accessible to the world. Tricia Belcasto is handling the PR for the site.
BELCASTRO: It is an online resource where small boutique Washington wineries have come together to activate their direct selling rights online. It is the winery selling direct to consumers over the internet and they've come together because together they have more power as small wineries than they may be able to have in the marketplace individually.
According to Belcastro, if you hurry you can still send a gift of Washington Wine.
BELCASTRO: If people purchase wine by December 18, we guarantee that it gets there by the 24th and wine makes an excellent gift, you serve it with the holiday meal you may use it for the New Years holiday, it fits pretty much everyone.
As more wineries sign on to the project, Belcastro says the selection will just get better.
BELCASTRO: Right now we have 8 wineries offering 52 wines including red, white, rose and dessert wines and they range from individual varietal wines such as Cab and Merlot to blends. And new wineries join every month so people can check back and discover new Washington wineries all of the time.
