National Ag Day Celebration and Trade Mission to Vietnam
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.**As the nation celebrated National Ag Day Tuesday, the National Agricultural Aviation Association honored the men and women whose aerial application work supports global food production and modern ag.
Each year, American farmers rely on aerial application to treat approximately 127 million acres, nearly 28% of U.S. cropland, applying fertilizers, seeds, and crop protection treatments.
**The USDA launched a trade mission to Vietnam to open new markets, strengthen export opportunities, and secure fair and reciprocal trade for American agriculture.
USDA Undersecretary Luke Lindberg says we thrive when they have strong, reliable markets for our high-quality products, and by strengthening our trade relationship with Vietnam, we’re opening doors.
In 2025, agriculture, fishery, and forest exports surged 45% to a record $5.6 billion, making Vietnam our eighth-largest market.
**The March Cattle on Feed Report showed February placements of 1.61 million head, which was a 4% increase over 2025, exceeding analyst expectations.
The March 1 total on-feed inventory was 11.55 million head, 0.3% below last year, while February marketings fell 7% compared to 2025.
Beef Magazine said the report was considered slightly bearish due to the higher-than-expected placements, which were a 4% increase from 2025.
