Seats Open on Shell Egg Advisory Committee
Here is something for egg producers and industry stakeholders to keep on your radar. The California Department of Food and Agriculture is looking to fill two vacancies on the Egg Safety and Quality Management Program’s Shell Egg Advisory Committee.This program monitors egg quality at the production, wholesale, and retail levels. Its goal is to ensure California consumers receive eggs that are wholesome, properly labeled, refrigerated, and meet established quality standards, while also supporting fair and equitable marketing standards across the state’s egg industry.
One opening is for an industry member and one for a public member. Industry applicants must be a registered egg handler or represent one in California. Public applicants must not be a registered egg handler or representative. Terms run 36 months, and while there is no compensation, members are reimbursed for travel, lodging, meals, and incidental expenses.
