Farmers, ranchers, and community members across California and beyond can take part in the Climate and Agriculture: Farming in a Changing Climate workshop this Jan. 20. While the event is hosted in Ventura County, the conversation is designed for anyone interested in how climate change is reshaping agriculture. With a live Zoom option and recordings available after the event, participation is open to all.

Hosted by UC Cooperative Extension, the free workshop brings together experts from UC Agriculture and Natural Resources to share insights on climate trends, wildfire and heat impacts, disaster preparedness, irrigation planning, and decision making tools like CalAgroClimate and regional weather monitoring systems.

“We hope everyone will join us in person to discuss climate and agriculture, but people who aren’t able to come to Camarillo are welcome to join us virtually,” said Annemiek Schilder, workshop organizer.

The event will be held at the Ventura County Community Foundation, with lunch provided for in person attendees. Continuing education units are pending. Registration is required to attend in person or online.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For all of the details and to register, visit https://ucanr.edu/blog/topics-subtropics/article/climate-change-workshop
