The topic of farm robotics has been something discussed for years now, so why don’t we see more farmers buying autonomous equipment? Nathan Bivans is the CTO of FORT Robotics. He says the technology continues to get better every year and a lot of it is ready for farmer implementation, but he understands that farmers need tech to be ready to work consistently before they’re willing to make the investment.

Bivans… “ The farming community and just farmers in general, they need stuff that just works. They can't be messing around with technology. It's great if it helps them get things done, but they're not gonna use it for very long if it becomes a burden. And I think it makes the ag industry a place that isn't gonna adopt a technology until it's really ready. They don't have the time to mess around and with something that just doesn't work. And we're now, I think, starting to get there.”

Bivans says ag robotics has been worth the wait. He sees the sector making a big impact for years to come.

Bivans… “ Machines that can really make a difference for farmers. It's honestly, one of the reasons I'm so excited about ag as an industry right now is because there are things coming out that I think can really start making a difference for agriculture in the US.”

FORT Robotics is a leader in safety and security solutions for intelligent machines.
