The Safety of AI on the Farm

For farmers considering the latest technologies in robotics and artificial intelligence, one important question should be part of the decision making process: is it safe for my employees and my operation? Companies like FORT Robotics have developed a deep expertise in safety when it comes to artificial intelligence, and FORT CTO Nathan Bivans says they’re working with companies like NVIDIA to make sure new tech making its way to the farm remains safe.
Bivans… “You know, obviously the robot companies, the people building autonomous systems in all the industries we serve, and certainly in agriculture, like they want to provide solutions. And they know they need safety, but often they don't have the deep safety knowledge. You know, how do you measure how dangerous something is? That actually is quite difficult to do. So we're trying to use this lead we have in functional safety in these kinds of applications and as well as the investment to continue to develop that lead in safety and really push into the supervision for AI so that our customers who are building the robots can deploy these advanced AI systems safely.”
FORT Robotics recently announced they raised $18.9 Million in Series B funding to continue their focus on safety and security of intelligent machines.
