With tighter margins and rising costs across all industries, many farmers are looking for new ways to keep their operations moving forward. Tim Bucher, CEO of AgTonomy, says autonomy and accompanying technologies can give solutions that can help growers survive today’s economic pressures.

Bucher… “ We call it Farmagedden. And it's whether you're growing row crops or whether you're growing wine grapes, whatever it might be. It's a challenging time for agriculture right now. So how has that impacted the adoption of technology? It's accelerated it and the reason why is that all the growers know the only way out is to innovate our way out. Like this is a time where we have to put the pedal to the metal to bring in these technologies. Or there is no future, not just for wine grapes or corn or whatever the crop may be, but for the future of our food supply. And that's an existential threat to the global society. So it's more important now than ever. Now, I will say this, that when we look at who's really putting the pedal to the metal, it's more the enterprise growers. But that makes sense because they're larger operations. They're always looking for efficiency, especially in down times.”

Bucher’s company, AgTonomy, embeds advanced intelligence into pre-existing equipment, providing a new source of automation for farmers.
