In a volatile climate and when trade tensions are high, more and more areas are considering ways to build regional and resilient food systems. This is part of the reason why demand for greenhouse technology grows every year. Netafim Head of Global Projects and Greenhouses Shay Haxter says these are conditions that greenhouse agriculture is uniquely suited for.

Haxter… “ In changing climate environment when the weather is not stable and it's not the same like it used to be, and you want to control the quality of the food, you want to control the timeframe of the food, you want to control the entire supply chain. The control environment will allow you to do that, and by controlling all the parameters, you can adjust the entire supply chain to fit the demand.”

Haxter says Netafim sees a lot of future opportunity serving greenhouse growers.

Haxter… “ This technology allow us to grow and to produce almost any food anywhere. And this is, I think, the most fascinating thing, and this of course related to ROI and we need to make sure that the farmer will make money. But in terms of technology, we can almost produce everything.”
