Voices of Women in Agriculture: A Nationwide Call to Action
A new nationwide Women in Agriculture Study has just launched, calling on voices from across the country, including right here in California, to share their stories and experiences. The survey is open through March 31 and invites input from women in production agriculture, agribusiness, education, and advocacy, along with men who can offer their perspectives on women’s roles in agriculture. The goal is to better understand the experiences, leadership paths, and future needs of women in agriculture. Researchers want to learn what’s working, where the gaps are, and how to strengthen the support systems that help women succeed. Some participants may also be invited to take part in follow-up interviews and focus groups for a deeper look at mentorship, barriers, and opportunities.
American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall said, “More than a million women play vital roles in U.S. agriculture, accounting for 36% of our country’s farmers. We want to make sure we’re clearing barriers and providing opportunities for them.”
If you’re connected to agriculture, take a few minutes to add your voice. You can find the survey link at https://www.fb.org/program/womens-leadership/national-women-in-agriculture-study
