John Deere recently announced the start of a strategic collaboration with the Reservoir, a California-based agricultural technology on-farm incubator. John Deere’s Sean Sundberg says their visions aligned for the need for an on-farm innovation platform that focuses on growers’ needs.
Sundberg… “ As a grower, you're facing all kinds of pressures, whether it's finding labor, paying for labor, the quality of labor, you know, regulations that are coming your way, the need to reduce cost outta the business without impacting your yield, et cetera. So all of these things are coming at you and you need help.”
Sundberg says Deere has an opportunity to help accelerate the development of solutions for growers.
Sundberg… “ So that's really where the industry's not been doing well is taking these ideas and solving them in such a way that it could have direct meaningful impact to the growers. We feel that by engaging with Danny (Bernstein) we can help accelerate that. And I think that's at the end of the day when we look at California agriculture high value crop production system globally, we need the technology and we need the solutions and we need them faster than what we've been getting them. And that's exactly what the Reservoir will provide.”
