Agritourism is all about stepping onto a farm, picking something fresh, and making memories where the harvest happens. This season, apples are the big draw.

September has been proclaimed “Georgia Grown Apple Month” by Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper, shining a spotlight on apple season and the farm families who make it possible. To celebrate, Georgia Grown has introduced the Official 2025 Apple Orchards Map, pointing the way to orchards offering pick-your-own adventures.

Commissioner Harper said, “Many Georgians don’t think about visiting North Georgia’s beautiful apple orchards until the weather turns cool and the leaves turn brown, but apple season in Georgia is in full swing right now.”

Apple farming has deep roots. Ellijay is known as the apple capital of the state, and today nearly 1,000 acres support about 360,000 apple trees, producing more than $10 million in value last year.

Whether you’re from Georgia or just next door in Alabama or Florida, the orchards are open and the apples are ready. Plan your trip and explore the map at GeorgiaGrown.com.
