Ag Trade is Important

From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. More than 20% of American agricultural products are sold internationally through exports.

That’s why, American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall says several new trade frameworks put together by the administration could really benefit farmers and ranchers …

DUVALL … “Trade matters to farmers and ranchers. We need export markets to help us remain competitive and economically sustainable. At Farm Bureau, we are grateful for the administration’s focus on achieving new trade deals, and we see real opportunities for farmers and ranchers with the recently announced frameworks.”

And if successful, Duvall says that could be a much needed boost for struggling ag producers …

DUVALL … “But the stakes are high when it comes to trade negotiations, and unfortunately, farmers are often the first to bear the brunt of retaliatory tariffs. That’s why we keep urging the administration to limit trade disruptions and resolve disagreements quickly.”

So, Duvall says that’s why it’s so important to stay focused and not give up …

DUVALL … “Let’s keep working to open new markets and strengthen existing partnerships so that U.S. farmers and ranchers can keep leading the world in growing food for families at home and abroad.”

Again, that’s Zippy Duvall, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation.
