North Florida College Plants Seeds for Ag Careers
Across the Southeast, agriculture continues to grow—not just in fields and pastures, but in career opportunities too. North Florida College in Madison is helping lead the way with a new associate degree in Agribusiness Management, designed to meet workforce needs and open doors for the next generation.“Agriculture has long been a cornerstone of our region, and this program directly supports the needs of our local economy,” said David Dunkle, Dean of Workforce and Economic Initiatives. “We’re proud to offer students a pathway that blends agricultural science with core business principles, preparing them for immediate employment or continued education.”
The two-year, 60-credit-hour program blends hands-on ag instruction—greenhouse operations, irrigation systems, pest control—with business coursework in finance, marketing, and management. Graduates will be ready for careers in farm and nursery management, ag sales, and more. It’s also a solid springboard for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in agribusiness or related fields.
