Florida Names Permanent Leadership for Agricultural Water Policy Office
Florida's Office of Agricultural Water Policy has officially put its leadership team in place.
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson has named Jessica Ferris as director of the Office of Agricultural Water Policy, while Megan Seward will continue serving as assistant director. Both are familiar faces within the department, having already held key leadership roles.
Simpson says the pair bring extensive experience in agriculture, natural resources, environmental policy and government operations, adding their leadership will help build on the office's work supporting both Florida agriculture and water resources.
Ferris most recently served as the office's interim director and led statewide agricultural and water quality initiatives. Seward will continue overseeing policy, planning and strategic operations.
The Office of Agricultural Water Policy works with producers and partner organizations to develop voluntary, science-based conservation practices that help conserve water, protect water quality and keep agriculture strong and sustainable for future generations.
