Alabama Farmers Federation Support Tuberville and Ground Beef Prices Soar
From the Ag Information Network, this is your Agribusiness Update.**The Alabama Farmers Federation has endorsed Senator Tommy Tuberville for Alabama governor.
According to www.alfafarmers.org, Federation President Jimmy
Parnell says unanimous support by Alabama FarmPAC trustees reflects farmers’ appreciation for Tuberville’s Senate work and confidence in his ability to lead state government.
Parnell said Tuberville led efforts to bring relief to farmers reeling from low commodity prices, high production costs and natural disasters.

**Ground beef prices continue hitting record-high levels.
Government data says the average price of a pound of 100% ground beef rose to $6.12 in June, 12% higher than last year.
Industry experts say this trend shows no signs of slowing, which means there may be upward pressure on prices through 2026 and beyond.
Axios said the U.S. is dealing with significantly lower beef supplies, and that’s what is driving up the price of beef right now.
**America’s farm and food product exports create value and generate economic activity in and outside of the agricultural sector thanks to higher demand for transportation, packaging materials, or financial services across the supply chain.
In 2023, the value of U.S. ag exports hit $175.5 billion, generating an additional $186.9 billion in economic activity.
Including the value of the exports themselves, U.S. ag exports generated a total economic output of $362.4 billion.
