Georgia Ag Commissioner Named to National Council
Georgia is taking a national seat at the table when it comes to shaping ag policy. Last week, the America First Policy Institute—AFPI—announced its new America First Agriculture Commissioners and Secretaries Council. Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper was named as one of just twelve members.Harper says he’s proud to represent Georgia and looks forward to championing policies that put American and Georgia farmers first. As one of the nation’s top ag states, he says Georgia needs—and now has—a voice in the national conversation.
The council backs the Farmers First Agenda, focused on driving rural prosperity, rethinking government structure, and developing nutrition policy that protects American health and security.
Other members hail from Arkansas, Texas, Iowa, and South Carolina. AFPI, the nonprofit behind the effort, says its mission is to keep American values front and center in public policy—something ag producers are watching closely.
