Pursell Agri-Tech, an Alabama-based leader in sustainable fertilizer innovation, is expanding its global presence through a new partnership with Southeast Asia’s Wastech Group. The collaboration will establish a cutting-edge facility in Malaysia to produce controlled release fertilizers, integrating Pursell’s advanced coating technology with Wastech’s regional expertise.

According to MadeInAlabama.com, the move not only addresses rising demand for sustainable agriculture in Southeast Asia, Australia, and East Asia but also reinforces Alabama’s growing influence on global ag-tech innovation. “Partnering with Wastech to build a plant in Malaysia is ideal,” said Pursell CEO Tim Ferguson. “It creates opportunities to meet diverse nutrition needs in a prescriptive and profitable way.”

With more than a century of agricultural experience, the Pursell family has long been at the forefront of fertilizer technology.

“This partnership is a testament to Alabama’s ability to foster global collaborations,” said Christina Stimpson of the Alabama Department of Commerce. “It highlights our role in shaping sustainable agriculture’s future.”
